COMMON PAEDIATRIC SURGICAL PROCEDURES
There are a wide range of swellings / lesions that can occur in the skin and soft tissues in children both in the head and neck and other parts of the body. The great majority of these are not malignant but can often be symptomatic and /or carry a risk of getting infected. These swellings will be assessed clinically and if necessary with imaging such as ultra sound scans to guide the need and extent of surgery.
Vascular malformations can be managed in conjunction with interventional radiology specialists. Haemanagiomas can be assessed and treatment offered if appropriate.
